Student Programs - Student Leadership

All students are given opportunities to develop leadership skills and to take on formal leadership roles:

  • A House system operates throughout the school
The houses are: Bleazby, Crow, Chandler and Knox,
  • At each year level there are student House Captains
  • There are four School Captains each leading one of the Houses
  • The Student Council is the representative body with input into many facets of decision making in the school
  • Year 9 students all complete preliminary leadership training and can then elect to take a role as a peer support leader in Year 10
  • Other Leadership Development courses also operate at various year levels

The Student Action Group is a project based group of students who want to make a difference in their world. Some recent projects have included:

  • Raising money for, and then building, toilet facilities in a refugee village in Northern Thailand
  • Raising awareness and funds to support the struggle against child slavery in Southern Asia
  • World Vision Australia’s Forty hour famine
  • Raising awareness and funds for Amnesty International
  • Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave

In 2015 students raised funds to travel to work on a World Challenge project in Northern Borneo.
