Parent Partnerships

Working Bees

There are always opportunities for parents to volunteer their skills and become involved with the school community. Each year we conduct a working bee at beginning of March and one in Spring. This provides excellent social contact with other parents as well as making a valuable contribution to the school environment.

Support Groups

There are active Performing Arts and Volleyball Support Groups and a multitude of ways in which you can become involved. The Performing Arts group has created a vibrant community of alumni and parents who contribute to the annual production physically- helping with costume and set construction – as well as through fundraising initiatives. The Volleyball program also has a parent and alumni network that is heavily involved in making practices and competitions possible through fundraising and logistics support.

School Council

School Council plays a vital role in connecting with parents and strengthening community confidence in the school. There are distinct roles and responsibilities between School Council and the Principal which are set out in Department documents.

School Council meets 8 times a year on the fourth Wednesday of the month. In addition, each Council member sits on 1- 2 sub-committees which meet on the second Wednesday of the month, prior to School Council. The sub-committees include:

Education – oversees policy management and updates.

Environment – exercises general oversight and maintenance of the grounds and initiating projects which aim to enhance the physical spaces around the school.

Finance – ensures all money coming into the hands of School Council is expended for suitable and appropriate purposes.
